As some of you will already be aware Leicester City Council has plans to redevelop part of the Aylestone Meadows in to a football complex (consisting of two new floodlit football pitches, a clubhouse including 10 changing rooms and car standing for 167 cars and 2 coaches) on a area used in the summer by West End Runners to the west of Braunstone Lane East between the River Biam and the River Soar.

The Aylestone Meadows Appreciation Society (AMAS) has set up an online petition requiring 1,500 signatures to force the matter to be discussed at a full council meeting. The deadline is Monday 25th March and they require an additional 245 signatures
