"Women told not to walk alone on canal towpath after sex assaults.

Women have been urged to avoid a canal towpath in Leicester where a man has carried out a number of night sex assaults. Police believe the man has indecently touched lone women on or near the path alongside the Grand Union Canal and River Soar, in Leicester, five times since April. Officers are asking women to be vigilant when walking in the Western Boulevard and Mill Lane area.

Victims have told police the man who attacked them has short blonde hair and is in his mid-20s.

Anyone with information, including women who believe they have been assaulted by the man, should call police on 0116 222 2222."
