Leicester Rowing ClubWednesday night is our main club night when we meet at Leicester Rowing Club around 7:15pm for announcements before heading out for a run around 7:30pm. This would be the best time for those interested to visit. The rowing club was purpose built with the help of sports council and lottery funding and opened in November 1996. It is located off Upperton rd close to the junction of western blvd and the Swan Gyratory roundabout. The entrance to the club is adjacent to the recently renovated Liberty statue that used to stand on the old Liberty shoe factory. There is off road parking both in front and behind the building although it can get busy and there is an area for locking cycles although a good lock is recommended as the area will be unattended for most of the evening.
Having been purpose built for sports the rowing club provides excellent facilities for the club including: changing rooms, showers, a large meeting room, a kitchen area for refreshments and snacks and a bar. Saffron Lane Athletics TrackOn Mondays members can often be found at the recently renovated Saffron Lane Athletics Track which now benefits from a new synthetic track surface and changing facilities. This is ideal for experianced runners looking to do speed training and looking improving their race times.
